1.4542 – X5CrNiCuNb16-4 -17-4 PH

Material 1.4542 is a precipitation-hardenable, corrosion-resistant material with martensitic basic structure.
In the cured state, the material combines high tensile strength with good toughness properties, even in a temperature range down to -60°C. The corrosion resistance lies between that of heat treatable 17% chromium steels and the austenitic 18/9 Cr-Ni steels.
The material can also be supplied in a re-melted form for special applications.
